Landmark Sales of Ophthalmology Business, says Mark Hauser

EyeCare Partners (ECP), a leading clinically integrated network of optometry and ophthalmology providers, announced a week ago that it has an agreement to get Cincinnati, OH-based CEI Vision Partners (CVP), which is a leading network of ophthalmology practices that is owned and led by Mark Hauser. The two organizations did not disclose the transaction’s financial terms to the public; however, there is a combined group of 700 or more optometrists, 280 ophthalmologists, and supportive clinical staff of more than 6200. Mark Hauser, the managing partner of Hauser Private Equity, said that they had made several investments in ophthalmology in their fund portfolio. He stated that the acquisition by EyeCare only shows the market power and strength of Cincinnati businesses.

Hauser Private Equity collaborated with Revelstoke Capital Partners, who are based in Denver, as strategic partners and co-investors in the Cincinnati Eye Institute. The partnership of the two created the CEI Vision Partners, which is a management services organization that enabled them to partner with other ophthalmology providers in the market. Founded by Mark Hauser and Paul Swanson, Hauser Private Equity is an equity fund created for investment in the lower-middle and middle markets through partnerships with managers of special situations funds and growth equity and control buyout funds. The company leverages the industry expertise of its partners to grow companies, identify targets, and improve returns. The company is situated in Cincinnati, OH, with offices in Chicago, IL, and Los Angeles, CA. EyeCare Partners, based in Louis, provides clinically integrated eye care with a mission to Advance Eyecare, enhance vision, and better lives.
