Steph Korey is the Founder and CEO of Away, a company that makes suitcases with built-in phone chargers, among other features. According to Forbes, Steph Korey founded her company in 2015 and since then has grown it into a $50M business. Steph has been listed as one of Fortune’s Top 50 Most Powerful Women Entrepreneurs, Forbes’ 30 Under 30 Coolest Entrepreneurs, and Marie Claire’s 10 Women Changing The World. Steph has also been recognized as NYC Mayor Bill de Blasio’s 2017 Leadership Fellow for her work with sustainable commuting.

Steph Korey came up with the idea of creating luggage for people who wanted to travel smart. She wanted to create a product that solves all the problems of other luggage brands, and she does just that with Away. Steph Korey created a fashion-forward and quality product for men and women in different colors and styles. She can accomplish so much at such an early age, and her story is inspirational.
Steph was raised in New York City. Before moving to Paris for college at Sciences Po, she attended boarding school. Steph got her inspiration for starting Away while working in sustainable transportation. Steph discovered the travel industry to be a huge contributor to unnecessary environmental waste. Steph’s goal with Away is to help eliminate this problem by creating products that are more sustainable than traditional options and better designed.
Korey can come up with ideas for any business venture, and most recently, she was able to create a great Instagram ad campaign that helped spread the word about Away. Many companies are asking her how she managed to make the company grow so fast in such a short period. Steph is very modest about it and says that she only works with the best of the best. Steph has a good eye for talent and knows what needs to be done. Steph Korey is a true entrepreneur who continues to amaze everyone around her.
